Harold Camping
Radio broadcaster (1921 to 2013), president of Family Radio, who set dates in 1994 and 2011.
Harold Camping was a civil engineer who became president of Family Radio, a listener-supported Christian broadcaster based in Oakland, California. He taught a Bible-chronology system that led him to name September 1994, and later May 21 and October 21, 2011.
After 2011 he publicly acknowledged his errors and withdrew from date-setting. Family Radio stated that it would not repeat the practice. Camping died on December 15, 2013.
