Hal Lindsey

Author of The Late Great Planet Earth (1970), the best-selling prophecy book of its decade.

Hal Lindsey is an American author whose 1970 book The Late Great Planet Earth, written with C. C. Carlson, sold in very large numbers and popularized a dispensational reading of current events.

The book is often cited in connection with 1988, but its argument was about a possible generation of about forty years from 1948, not a stated date. That distinction is the reason this entry is marked as disputed.
